NMI Prayer Vision Journey
During the District Leadership Conference in Louisville, we announced the next Prayer Vision Journey for NMI leaders. Many of you were with us during 2008 in Ethiopia and Kenya. The Horn of Africa continues to be a church-planting movement.
The purpose for each Prayer Vision Journey is:
1. To experience and learn from a Book-of-Acts holiness mission movement
2. To pray for leaders, missionaries, nationals, and churches in this movement
3. To raise vision to disciple leaders and developing churches in our nations
4. To partner mission leaders from nations eager to invest resources in mission
Since our conference in Louisville, we have new details for the next Prayer Vision Journey in April 2012. We will experience two fields (India and South Asia) where Book-of-Acts movements have produced leadership development and church development from planting to organizing Nazarene churches. These fields have averaged one newly organized church every day for each of the past five years. That is more than 365 new churches organized every year! You have to see; then you will believe.
In April 2012, we will meet leaders and visit churches in Calcutta, India, and Colombo, Sri Lanka. We will take 30-35 leaders one week, and another 30-35 leaders the next week. This will reduce visibility and any compromising impact on local churches and city cultures. You remember that we took 74 leaders to the Horn of Africa at one time. We committed not to attempt that again.
Our office will encourage your district superintendent and council to support you and to assist with your financial investment. We will release more information following the Global Council meeting in February 2010 and will offer early registration opportunities. Watch for more details.
