Korea—Missionary-Sending Nation
“The Korea District has caught the vision! Korea is sending missionaries to the world,” said South Korea District Superintendent Im, Yong-Hwa. Korean Nazarene missionaries now serve in 14 world areas. The South Korean church is asking God to send out 55 missionaries from their churches within the next 4 years and to help them start 60 new churches within their country.
Strength in the Slums
Four years ago gangs took over Bel Air, Haiti, a Port-au-Prince slum. The neighborhood’s 80,000 population dwindled to 10,000. Membership of the Bel Air Church of the Nazarene dropped from 2,000 to just a few. But the church kept its doors open every day for prayer. Former Pastor Walliere Pierre says, “The faith of the people became strong. Every day people came, and every day I prayed with them.” Today, the political situation in the area has improved and the Bel Air church is running 500 people under the leadership of Pastor Aris Noel.

Soccer Ball Evangelism
JESUS Film teams are using the latest evangelism tool, the Evangelism Ball. Soccer is popular globally. As equipment is assembled for a showing, volunteers and team members start a game. Afterwards, the conversation turns to the color blocks on the ball and the Gospel is presented. The ball is part of a Nazarene evangelism strategy in conjunction with the World Cup soccer event to be hosted in South Africa in June and July 2010. To learn more, visit www.GOL2010.org.
